Hi,
Is anyone keeping/breeding toads in europe? Mainly but not necessarily Bufo species.
I'm looking to get some more species to expand my collection but it has been tough.
Thanks
I am not sure about breeders in your specific area, but I know in the U.K their is alot of people on this forum that have many amphibians. And don't worry your english is greatI hope you find some amphibians soon!
Thanks for the reply! Well, it's a lot easier to find newt and salamander species, and even frogs, than it is to find toads, I may have to wait for the big shows at the end of the summer and travel over 1500 miles to get some new species.
Lol that is a long plane ride. What kinds of toads do you have? I know that midwife toads are common around your area, maybe you could get some of those?
Right now I only own 5 CB2011 Bufo bufo and a big old wc female, 5 Rhinella marina, 1 Discophus guineti. I used to have a B. melanostictus but I gave it away a few years ago.
Even if I found some midwifes, and I actually never saw one, I don't think I would catch it. We have strict laws about collecting animals, and the midwifes are already so hard to see, I wouldn't want to contribute to that.
I was aiming at some B. melanostictus and B. brongersmai.
Oh ok, laws like Australia with native animals? Oh well, good luck with your search though!
