To those with divider tanks..

I have a 50/50 setup for mine, with a gently sloping ramp into the water, sandy bottom, and maybe 2.5" of water. Frog seems to like spending a significant more time in the water than the dirt, so I could probably have gone with a 1/3 dirt 2/3 water setup for a more utilized space.

It really depends on the frog though, my pacific chorus frog spends the daytime and some of the night on land, and only a little bit of time in the water. Like I said it really depends on the frog

Oh I see this is for bullfrogs. Well then that changes things. Ok for bullfrogs I would keep them in a 50/50 setup or a 25 land/ 75 water setup. I hope this helps

yes im talking about gabf. lol i thought i posted in the wrong forum for second. i almost like the idea of a greater water than land ratio just my ffemale spends alot of time burried. i hope she likes the permanent water dish when it comes lol

i could do it to two 30 gallons a 20 gallon long or a 20 tall. probably saving the tall 20 gallon she is in for a future project and do a 30 gallon. and i have 2 perfect peices of pexi glass.

what kind of sand? that sounds cool cause mine slips around her dish trying to dig in hoping there was mud. can you ppst a pic if possible.

With a bullfrog I don't think you can really prevent the water dish from moving around being that they are so big. I personally wouldn't do sand because of impaction. I hope this helps!

Sorry, can't get a picture, I only use my phone and the camera is broken.

Anyway, I use aquarium sand. It cleans easy, grows very little bacteria and algea, and the frog seems very happy about the softness underfoot. I use to have river stones but they were a pain, grew algea quickly, the frog would get stressed from the noise every time I went to take them out to clean, and I read a post in the budgetts frogs about a frog eating rocks, I don't think a little sand poses much of an impaction risk.

The divider is the toughest part. I found a coated piece of metal that I bent into a ramp and siliconed it in place, but I got a small leak and the underside has started to rust. I need to come up with something else. My frog also likes to use the dry part of the ramp as a platform to slide up and catch food, kind of crocodile catching wildebeest style.
