Getting Into Dart Frogs...

So, I have a 40 breeder that I'm setting up. Right now I have my waterfall setup and running - with some moss around the land area. I should be doubling the land area soon with some nice dark colored driftwood that'll sit mostly above the waterline.

Here are my basic questions.

What type of lighting will I need? I want as many real plants as possible.

Will 25% water maintain enough humidity? I have a submersible heater that'll be more than adequate for it.

Since I will have those plants - should I add a fish in the water to keep it all fertilized? Or am I better off using artificial ferts?

Are there any other species that will be okay with them?

If interested in keeping Darts, my recommendation is to read the related care articles in this section. That will give you the basic care knowledge and how to set-up a proper home for them. If keeping live plants, you need to provide fluorescent or LED lights that peak at 6500 to 6700K color.

Humidity is maintained is a dart enclosure by replacing the screen top with glass. A large water fixture helps; but is not mandatory since you can maintain humidity with misting.

Can add fish to water section but must be planned properly so there is no overcrowding and the nitrogen cycle keeps toxic chemicals below dangerous levels. We recommend not mixing frogs with any other animals including any other frog species. Problems are dealing with matching different animal parameters, stress, and frog toxins.

Like Carlos said the optimum range for plants is 6500-6700k color or T5 lights.

As for the water fixture it just depends on if the container is fully covered at the top or is partly screen. You may need to mist the terrarium in addition to the waterfall to keep the humidity between 90-100%.

Some fish could be ok to add to the water section as long as their is plenty of space for them. Some fish can be ok to put with dart frogs but I would be careful here, or you may end up with no fish and fat frogs! As for fertilizers, I am not sure but I personally wouldn't do it because of how sensetive frogs are to changes in water quality.
