So I bought a whites tree frog from the reptile convention in Pasadena a couple weeks ago. I have seen him change green maybe twice. He is normally a dark brownish color. What am I doing wrong or is that normal? His tank is always about 70 degrees and 80 to 85 humidity maybe in the 90 right after a good spray. I keep one UVB bulb on him and I have lots of live plants. He eats about 5 to 6 crickets a day. And his always in his water at night, I change the water nightly with reverse osmosis water... Any feed back would be great. I'm thinking about adding one more whites tree frog
Welcome to the forum! Your temperature is way too low. 80-85 is the optimum temp with a drop to 70-75 at night. I use an exo terra night glo 50 watt to give a small amount of heat. Humidity should be in the 40-50 percent range. I spray like maybe for 10 seconds for the plants and then inlet their water bowl take care of water issues. Bottled or declorinated tap water is the only thing to use for the water dish. Purified water denies your frog valuable nutrients
. For misting how ever it is best to use distilled. before you add your second frog be sure to quarantine it for at least 30 days. Otherwise the brown color is normal although some say they turn brown under stress or when the humidity is high and the temp is low. How big is your tank? How big is your frog?
The Frog chooses its owner. Treat your life-long friend with respect and care and it will never disappoint!

Thank you for the help, I have a 20 gallon hight tank, and I do use the reverse osmosis water.. Am I doing the right thing by feeding about 5 crickets a night.
It all depends on the size and age of your frog. My frogs were about an inch long when i got them. I fed them 5 crickets every night. Now i feed six crickets every other night. As long as the fold of skin over theirtympanum doesn't start to fold over you're good! Make sure you dust them too. (One of my frogs is physically disabled and the other is recovering from emaciation so i give a few extra now and then)
Hope this helps!!
