Default When do froglets get their adult color?

I have some baby fire belly toads. I think they are about 3 months old. The largest is about 1", the smallest 0.5". They have grown, except the smallest one, which seems to be just hanging on.

I am wondering if/when they will change to a green color? They are all brown with cream colored bellies. The breeder told me he breeds for color so I expect they will change as they mature, I'm just getting impatient!

I feed them crickets that I feed carrots and calcium fortified cricket food and gel, and fruit flies. I dust with calcium/vitamins 1-2 times a week.

Fire belly toads usually have their colours change in different environments, ive had my fire bellies for two and a half years and they have changed from green to brown over and over, usually its nothing serious. Most fire bellies within the pet trade dont have the bright red bellies when produced in captivity. If you make your own fruit fly culture, try adding paprika, this acts as a colour enhancement for the frogs, some even dust crickets with colour enhancers for canaries (I personally have never tried this) i would feed the frogs every second day because they are still growing. Could we possibly see a picture of their tank?

This is their home. It is a 29 gallon. The water section is about 4 gallons total. The waterfall is a filter and I do a water change weekly. They spend most of their time hanging out on the aquatic plants.

The largest is about 1", the smallest 0.5" I feed them everyday, small crickets and fruit flies.

Hi Lisa Marie ! That is a very nice looking enclosure. Some FBTs tend to be greenish while others are brownish. Also there are bluish morphs too. They also can change from brown to green depending on environment and even stress.

IRT coloring food; I've read that to get the red belly, you have to feed tadpoles with a high carotene diet. Still; have not read anything about the green color associated with any foods.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
