Hi all! I have two AGTFs in a 12x16x24 vivarium, and recently purchased a 12" fluorescent tube bulb holder. I haven't found any uvb bulbs that are 12" besides a Zoo Med Repti Sun 12" T5 5.0 High Output UVB Bulb on LLLreptile, but I'm not sure if this gives off too much UVB. Does anyone know whether I can use this bulb? Would compact uvbs be better? Thanks for any advice.
A 5.0 UVB is considered a tropical one; kind of middle range in reptile terms. There are no established guidelines in regards to UVB bulbs and frogs; they will survive fine without them. Still, some owners report their frogs do better under UVB use. As long as the enclosure parameters are fine and you provide an 85F basking spot; the 5.0 UVB won't hurt them. Good luck!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
