Calcium on worms?

Hey everyone,

Been a lurker for months now. Finally joined the forum. I have my current pacman for 6 months. His staple diet has been crickets with calcium dusting. But I'm trying to switch him to night crawlers. Got him to eat his first one last night. My question is do I still dust worms? I guess if so just the same way as I would with a cricket. Thanks for any help.

Yes, you will still need to dust the worms. But this is no problem, in fact I find it easier than with crickets. the way I do it is just take a baggie like a ziploc sandwich bag, put some dust in, drop a couple worms in, shake it up, and then I take the whole bag over and feed them straight to the frog using tongs. works great. worms are somewhat slimy so the dust can clump upx don't over dust, or it will become sticky and gluexlike, which the frog greatly dislikes. Just a light dusting will do ya.

My frog love the taste of worms but makes a fuss when given a fusted worm so it must taste bad. Once she learned the white ones taste bad, she is more stubborn about eating them. But she still eats them after enough wiggling. Good luck!

Try a different brand of supplement, my frogs find multi-vitamins from exo-terra absolutely disgusting.

The answer is yes. Dust your worms or worm pieces with calcium plus vitamin D3 every other night and amphibian multivitamin one day a week, but not on the same day as the calcium.

Just to fill in a blank, we have Bubba on Rep-Cal brand, and she's still fussy about it But that's probably just because she's a little b-word. hehehe

Yes, as stated by others, you dust the worms too. Duncan takes worms dusted with Repashy's Calcium Plus in every feeding with no fuss. I just dust the first two night crawlers with a pinch of the powder .
