I've just setup a terrarium for my toad about a week ago and I discovered mold under the wood I've placed in there. It's not the usually spider web mold I usually hear about but it looks like little light green dots. There's also a small layer of white mold but I'm assuming that's harmless. Any idea on what mold I should watch out for? Should I remove my toad for the time being while the terrarium settles?
I enjoy pet toads because they can have bone-dry set ups as long as they have a water dish. I usually never run into mold problems with my toads because the cages are dry. Just try cleaning up the mold, drying the cage a bit, and allowing more air-flow. your toad should be fine for now.
Mold usually isnt harmful and has benefits in decomposition, if you want you can remove it if it starts to look ugly.

Okay, that's fine as long as it's harmless. Might dry it out if it gets too bad then. Thank you!
