So I just got an aquarium and all the things necessary for it and I was wondering what critters could live in there. I was thinking I could put two ADF's in there, a betta and two ghost shrimp. Does anyone have experience housing these species together? I'm mostly worried about the betta's temper.
Hiya, how big is your tank?
When I was first considering frogs I was thinking about getting a betta to go with them. From what people say, it seems more dependant on the personality of the fish as to whether things will be ok, you have to watch out it doesn't take all the food or bully the frogs, it all seemed a lot more trouble than it was worth. I've also read that dwarf frogs kept with fish tend to hide out more.
I'm not sure about the shrimp but I think the frogs would at least TRY to eat them.
The frogs are very entertaining by themselves, I'd just get a few of those. You definitely don't have to worry about a lack of interest in your tank when you have a load of ADFs playing happily in there![]()
Oh, thank you responding. I think I'll take your advice and just get the frogs, I just saw a video where two frogs attacked two full grown ghost shrimp and killed them.
The tank is a 10 gallon by the way.
Yeah, my frogs try to nip on anything that moves near their face, so shrimp would definitely be a gamble. Some snails would probably make a safer companion, you just have to keep an eye on their numbers if they breed.
Oh yeah, I've heard snails can get to be huge problems. I'd like to get one larger species of snail like apple or mystery, so maybe then I won't have an egg problem. Anyway, thanks again for your input!
