I have two green fire bellies but recently purchased a brown/copper colored one that doesn't croak the same way but makes a quicker sound that is more like a *meep meep meep* which sounds cute. The little one my room mate got today also has a timid soft croak sound and I heard its because the species is a little different. Depending on the Asian country they originate from. Anyone know more?
You probably have European fire bellied toads. They are darker than the oriental fire bellies and are often mislabeled in the pet store. It is highly unlikely that you have another Asian species because most members of the bombina family are endangered
