I know there can be hybrids between the two. Would it be safe to house the two together? I'm fairly sure both of mine are American, but one makes me wonder.

Fowler's and American's do cross breed. So yes, they can be housed together.

Helios has begun to shed. But his skin didn't all come off like My whites do. It is coming off separately. Is this normal? Haven't seen him eat any skin; doesn't mean he hasn't.

My toads always shed like my grey tree frogs do. They would get kind of slimy and then eat their skin. I would say they probably did that once or twice a week. How is the humidity? Water dish to soak? Looks healthy in the pictures.
