Color change and constant barking..

So Monster has gone from green to black and is constantly barking, as well as constantly trying to mate with Merce. It's normal behavior on his part to constantly want to mate but why the sudden color change? The temperature in the tank is 70. It's a 29 gallon tank. Screen top, UVB light that stays on for only 8 hours per day.

I'm not thinking it's a health concern was just wondering why since it's something new and these little guys never cease to fascinate me!

He's still very active very happy, feeding just fine and dandy. I thought maybe shedding but usually he only turns darkish green when that happens.

Merce has also turned darker in color but I think she's shedding like usual.

The constant barking usually doesn't bother be but now that it's becoming really loud and almost 24/7 it's getting annoying when I'm trying to focus on something or when I'm trying to sleep. Most of the time I'm able to tune it out but of course someone always has to point it out to me and then it's all I hear dangit!!

Seems plausible that it is a pre shedding change. I notice my frogs will darken if the temperature drops, but also seem to do it at arbitrary times as well. I've never noticed any connection to mating.
