rescued tadpole identification help please!
Hello all, lifetime frog lover here! My workplace has an in-ground pool that ended up broken late in the season last year so they just closed it and left it over the winter. The cover gathers tons of leaf debris and takes on a lot of water. They are supposedly having someone come out to repair the pool and will be removing that cover this week. All the water will be pumped off and the debris thrown out. There are tons of tadpoles in there. I have already rescued about 40 of them and hope to be able to rescue the rest. I was guessing they are green frogs, maybe bullfrogs. There are two frogs in there too but way to fast and clever for me to get close enough to positively ID them but I think they are green frogs. I need to know what type of tadpoles they are so I can release them in the proper area, so the sooner the better. If I can release these guys today I can rescue another 50 or so. I am in western NY (think Buffalo but closer to PA border) We have a small "frog pond" with green frogs and goldfish and also a larger bass pond with bullfrogs. If they are toads we can let them morph in Tupperware and release in the garden. Any input/help/ suggestions are greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!
