Yes the females don't croak, they only softly chirp when it is being bothered by another frog stepping or sitting on it. The males are very vocal mine chatter all night, it's so cute I love it, they have many different sounds unlike most frogs, they are not just vocal for breeding. Mine shake at each other too if they are getting bothered, I have seen males and females shake, I think it was only documented that males do this but I have seen one of my females do it as well.

I didn't know the females don't croak. I just hear two different croaks and have seen (what I assume is the female) make a noise while the other was asleep. Maybe I have two males. Where I got the frog they didn't know the sex. But I read that sexing is difficult. But you can go by size. And Kiwi is like 3x bigger than gingersnap and they are the same age. Maybe I am just crazy, but either way I still think it's awesome when I hear them. I love the sound! I haven't seen mine shake yet. They like to sit very close to each other on the spray nozzle every night :P

Some frogs are just smaller than others, I had a male who was a lot smaller than the other males but he was years older than them too. You most definitely have 2 males because I have 3 females and 2 males for over 4 years and the females don't make any noise apart from what I said before when they are being bothered.
