Thanks to So really great advice I am think I am finally starting to get my environment under control. And can now hopefully Get my little guy to eat on a more regular basis. So my question is about Zoomed Hygrotherm controller. I just recently (like 10 min ago) programed in a temp drop at night. I dropped it 5 degrees from 80 to 75. but how does it know when to drop the temp? There does not seem to be any clock on it? anyone know?
On the LED screen there is a smallish photo eye. It detects when the light in the room is turned off and that triggers it to switch to the night time temp drop. The key is to make sure the photo eye is sensing the tank light so it will simulate the drop with the day/night cycle of the tank and not light changes in the room the tank is in.

Thanks. That is seem like it could be a bit tricky.
It's not as tricky as it seems. As long as the photo eye can see the tank light it will need to register that light as on or off along with any other ambient lighting in the room to switch to the night temp settings. It takes a little bit of playing around, but is fairly easy to get it positioned right.

I would do 82-77. I kept mine in the window to match natural day and night cycles.
