Exclamation Red Eyed - Eye Damage / Cataract?

    Hi all

I've been having big problems with this frog who won't feed and today I have noticed that he has a blurred mark on one of his eyes. Has anyone seen this before and know of a solution? I am currently trying to seek advice from a suitable vet.

FYI he is currently in isolation from the group.

    I hope someone can help!

    Many thanks,
    Dan

Did frog injured it's eye or are there sharp pointy objects in it's enclosure? Frog looks sick and infection has moved into it's eye. I would recommend taking to a Herp veterinary as soon as possible for strong fast acting antibiotics. Eye looks bad and frog could loose it even if it recovers, sorry !

If a veterinary is not an available option; you could try giving frog baths 2X daily for 30 min. to frog's chin depth) with Mardel's Maracyn Plus (active against both Gram + and - bacteria) mixed with dechlorinated tap water according to label directions. If frog gets too stressed out during bath's; you could also drip solution over it's body while frog sleeps with an eye dropper. Solution is OK on eyes; but do avoid the frog nostrils if using eyedropper. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !

I'm really sorry guys, I'm using the forum on my phone and I must have somehow not posted the reply I wrote out! I did appreciate your help Carlos, thank you.

Unfortunately the frog died but it is useful to know what I can do if that issue comes up again. The only sharpish objects are points on leaves and stems?
