Ive heard that using a little bit of vinegar and some elbow grease works wonders. Btw, how much was the tank?

When I got my hex tank it had a lot of mineral deposit and I used vinegar. Then rinse the hell out of it. There shouldn't be any lingering odor or it isn't rinsed well enough.
