Yes but pieces of substrates can clog up the filter so you would have to take out the filter and clean it. No you dont have to change the water everyday. Maybe weekly or month for filter cleaning

Just do some research on filter for frogs. I like how my friend setup his intank filter for his turtles (and turtles produce a lot more waste then pixie) I wanted to add some fish like mollies or guppies so if the frogs want to snack on that he can. I just didnt want to spend more then 20 dollars for a filter. Will see how it goes for me.

... I coat his crickets and worms every night with calcium powder. The temperature is around 76 during the day and drops to just under 70 degrees at night. Please give me any comments concerns or tips to keep him healthy and happy.

Temp is low for an African Bullfrog. Water dish should be cleaned/refilled with dechlorinated tap daily. Unless CA product is made for daily use (i.e. Repashy's Calcium Plus) daily use of CA can cause problems too. Also, need to add multivitamins to frog supplement schedule.

Crickets should be sized same as distance between frogs eyes and gut loaded for 24-48 hours with carrots, lettuce, and cherios. Beetle worms are very fatty and their hard skin can cause digestive issues. Recommend use not dyed night crawlers available at Walmart or local bait shops which are a much better nourishment. You can cut the worm from it's pointy end in mouth sized pieces for a baby, body length for a juvie, and full worms when frog reaches 3-4 in.

Humidity can be raised by covering enclosure top with aluminum foil. Tape aluminum to screen top, use a Sharpie Marker to draw an outline around the light fixture, using scissors cut a hole following the outline and you are done. Good luck !

Ok yea. I might do the same thing. Even if the frog doesnt eat them it will look pretty cool with fish in the water. I wont be doing any of this until floyd grows a little bigger though. Let me know how it goes and give me some tips.

Floyd is about a inch and a half and he eats about 30 small crickets or 1 worm and 10 crickets or 2 worms and 2-3 crickets a night. His food is powdered every 3 nights. He eats his meal in about 10 minutes and stops eating when hes full.
