Default Why is sexing retf so hard?

So I've seen the threads. Size croaks and dirty thumbs. The only ways to sex a red eyed. Or is it? I have heard something about white on a thumb? Is that accurate and how exactly do you determine in that way.

Here is a pic. This is Bee Gee. Either a full grown male or a sub adult female. Measuring a whopping 2.23" give or take a couple hundredths.

looks like an adult male. They become very vocal and have a few different kinds of noises they make, not just an average mating call. They tend to *giggle* alot sounds a bit like a dolphin.
Females are alot fatter and wider. never checked their thumbs too delicate and stress way too easily to bother handling them.

I thought male at first, but then again it's been sick since I got her. And although he/she's getting better with the right treatments, he/she still doesn't eat much or move around that much. He/she hasn't croaked at all, unlike the other one I got, who croaks all through the night. So either it's a boy and isn't feeling well enough to croak, or it's a girl and isn't feeling well enough to fatten herself up. Though he/she is getting fatter by the day. Anyways thanks, I hope he starts chirpin' soon so I'll know. Here is a pick got while it was climbing up the wall when I got home.
