so i wanted to use a 10 gallon tank and turn it into a vivarium. i want to use a Aqueon 20" single fluorescent tube but wasn't sure if this is enough to light up a couple of plants in the enclosure. i was thinking bromeliads, tropical ferns, & frog moss in mind for the tank. what kind of lighting would i need? 6500k?
You should be fine with a single light strip. And yes, 6500-6700k is the color temp you want for the bulb. They normally list being for freshwater planted tanks.

i decided to use a dual t5 by odyssea because petsmart were selling the single fluorescent for $12 ($19 with shipping) but they don't offer it anymore on their website. petco has them but want $30 for it. but this dual t5 one is only $35
here's a link to it: T5 Dual 20" 6500K Aquarium Light Plant Freshwater Tropical Fish Discus Tetra 36W | eBay
Good choice! All my t5ho fixtures are odyssea. I have never had an issue with them.
