10 Gallon vertical conversion kit – Jungle Box

Anyone ever used one of these? Are they as good as they look? I would love to make my old 10gl into a Vertical without tracking all this stuff down.. Any thoughts?

I think John has used them or at the very least he mentioned them once.

I'm interested in these conversion kits too. With the top being glass when the tank is set on its side, the light would have to be a hanging light, right? Placing it directly on the glass doesn't seem to be a good idea.

my aquarium hood is resting on glass, I dont think its a problem, the light bulbs themselves arent touching glass tho..... i would rather have it resting on glass then plastic or fiberglass screen (stuff that could melt)

Yes. I got one as a gift and tried it out. Personaly I find it to be not a bad product at all. However I needed ten and found it to be cheaper to make my own. If you are a handy DIY type they are easy to make if you need a large number. If you only need a few buy them.

i was looking at buying one of this for my 10 gallon test project but measured out my tanks rim dimensions to be 9 1/2" x 19 7/16" and the website says

NOTE: This kit is designed for aquariums with a rim opening of 9 3/4" x 19 1/2". Custom sizing available on request at an additional cost.

Johnny are you still around? Any way you could check the measurements of the kit? I've measured a few different brands of 10 gallons and haven't found one that has the rim dimensions they specify for the kit

I ordered a conversion kit this morning from Jungle box. I had to have them do a custom job for me. My tank is a 20 long not a 20 high like they have on their web site. I should have it monday or Tuesday. I will see what it's like. I went to Menards and bought the stuff, i am going to do my 55 gallon myself. I will post pictures as soon i get them done.

I ordered a conversion kit from Jungle Box for a 20 gallon long tank i finished it and it was easy. It is really nice. I wanted to put the picture on here but i don't now how. If you want to see it i put in my album or if someone can tell me how to put it on the thread i will do it. The kit was 50.00 with it shipped to me. A lot easier cause i am also converting a 55 gallon and it is harder to figure out everything i need.

I know this is an old thread, but I would like to turn my 10 gal traditional tank into a vertical as well, and I measured mine at 19 3/8" (?) x 9 1/2"... is there any kind of kit that would work with that?? That's inside edge by the way, from the outter edges of the opening it's 20" x 10 1/8"....

I've used their 20H conversion kit. I'm a bit messy, so you should probably ask Paul if you need any guidelines
