What type of food is great for your toad? Tell the type of toad (if you don't know, you do not need to write?) Thanks!
Bufos Americanus (Eastern Division haha).
Mine eat:
Slugs-
Earthworms-
Pillbugs-
June Beetles-
Crickets-
Mealworms-
Superworms-
Waxworms-
Roaches-
Moths-
Cabbage Butterflies- (caterpillars included)
Pinkie mice-
Earthworms are one of the best foods to feed your toad, slugs are high in calcium and make great food to prevent MBD. Crickets are the common staple but are not nutritionally complete by themselves, roaches are high in protein and make a great staple for any larger frog. be careful when feeding mealworms and superworms, their chitin is higher and are difficult to digest. Pink mice are an acceptable treat but are high in fat and should be fed but every 2-4 weeks at the very best. Lastly, wild caught insects pose a risk of introducing parasites to the frogs but can give a great variety.

Southern & Fowlers feed mostly red runner roaches, along with crickets, pill bugs, wax & butter worms. Mine are not big fans of earthworms.

I had a hard time getting some of my frogs and toads onto earthworms at
first but eventually they were able to take them down![]()

My tpads pretty much do eat anything. They LOVE pill bugs, and worms. So funny watching them trying to decide on which side of the worm to star eating.
