hey everyone, I've had angus and agnes for about nine months now. They were both the same size when i got them, but now they are still about the same length but angus is much fatter larger and bolder. Agnes is so skinny and frightened all the time. Can anyone say why this is? Look at my profile picture and you can clearly see the difference

I guess some of them are like that. I have a female that i have had for 5 years since a baby and she is only 3 inches or so my male is pretty much the same size as her and she eats like a champ, I always tong feed so I know how much she eats but she just doesn't grow!
Does your frog eat well? Pooping okay? Is the feces of normal consistency?
If yes, I wouldn't worry. Just monitor eating habits.

Good news! Agnes ate SIX crickets today! SIX! She has also not been as shy as she has been lately. She's getting fatter every day. But Angus is still bigger amd bolder
Btw, i measured them today and they are both about 2.4-2.6 inches long. They were about an inch when i got them nine months ago. Is this growth rate fast, slow, or normal?

My guess is that either the other one was eating more, or, perhaps your larger frog is a female and Agnes maybe a male. Too young to tell yet? Likely. Time will tell.

I feed them from my hand (Agnes with forceps) i give them the same amount. Angus is a male because he croaks every 5 minutes.

In the past couple of weeks i have seen an almost random change in her behavior. She has definitely gotten fatter (because of the little bit of extra food at feeding time) and whenever i walk near the tank she follows me with her eyes like "feed me". This evening she even took food from my hand!if you have seen my profile pic then you can clearly see that Agnes was MUCH smaller. Now Angus is still fatter but agnes is really beginning to speed up. I was getting really worried about her before.

I love your frogs!! Just wanted to let you know
Ever since I saw them in your frog biography post I've been looking into what I would need to house a couple of my own. Hence me being here in the "Tree Frog" section right now
They're such cuties, nice to read that she is hand feeding now! Reminds me of a video I saw this morning while I was googling about their care. It made me chuckle so I thought I'd share with you:
LOL!!! :.D my frogs are WAY to lazy to actually attack their food. They would much rather wait till i put the cricket right next to them. They are really fun and cute to take care of. Last night they were watching tv because a show about insects was on. Of course, they don't know that the insects aren't actually in the room but nice try!

Today i was playing a recording of Angus croaking. Of course Angus croaked to himself croaking but then something happened. Agnes started to move her throat too!!!It was nothing like Angus and she barely made a sound. But her throat was kind if moving. Angus's throat has gotten dark and he has developed Nuptial pads. The same is not true for Agnes. Has this happened to anybody? Does
this mean that Agnes is really another Angus??

She looks very healthyHope she stays nice and healthy!
Long time since an update. I no longer worry about her. She is a bold little frog. She even tolerates handling a little but as long as you keep your hand inside the tank. Shedding normally, being green more often. Both of them are usually an olive color sometimes when its a sunny cool day being green and when its really humid being brown. Here is a pic of them together from April
Heres a pic from today
Can you tell who is who??

Thanks! I'm going to update my prof pic with the "new Agnes". I wish i could get a group photo with them and the toads but i foresee a disaster if i tried. Besides Angus doesn't like Helios
