Default New Habitat For White Lipped Tree Frog...Good Idea?

    Hello!

Last night I purchased the following new enclosure for my new white lipped tree frog on petco.com. I like the way it looks, but will it be any kind of problem because it is completely screened in (no glass)? Also, do you think with these dimensions (24" L X 18" W X 24" H), I can get another white lipped tree frog?

It wasn't the best choice because as you point out it is all screen. Such cages are designed more for chameleons. With frogs it is all to easy to end up with a little dried up frog mummy. Tree frogs are fairly resistant to desiccation though so you may be able to get away with it if you have a deep bowl of water available and never let that dry up.

Damn. I'm having such a hard time finding one of those nice ones that I see other people have that are all glass and very tall rather than wide and that open from the front. Does anyone have a go-to website where I can buy a habitat such as that?

    I appreciate your comment Seth.

Well if your looking to buy a very nice tank over the internet I would recommend this guy... Euro style Glass Terrariums - Dendroboard He makes beautiful tanks for a reasonable price if you want something very nice and professional looking. If you don't want to spend the 150-200$ shipped a nice open fronted tank likes he makes would run you you can build a decent front opening vertical setup out of a twenty gallon aquarium for less than fifty or sixty dollars most of the time.

Thank you Seth! You've been a tremendous help. I might order something that from company or I might just take this habitat I ordered and bring it to a glass specialist to have it "glassed in". Enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend! Thanks!

I wouldn't get rid of the that mesh cage just yet. It would be good for waxy monkeys, Phyllomedusa sauvagii. I have a mesh cage I am going to use to house my tomato frogs in during the summer. I will be putting it out on the back porch so they can get some real UVB.

I just looked up those frogs. Pretty crazy looking. I don't really have the room for more frogs at this time but I think eventually I will have some different species. Considering I spent hundreds of the dollars the last few days on frog supplies, I better bring back the mesh cage! Thanks again everyone you've all been a great help.

I like the waxy monkey because when its sleeping it perches like a bird on a branch. Way cool.
