    Default Frog Biographies! :D

Hey everyone, let's all post biographies about our frogs! Let us all get to know each others frogs a little better

in your bio, be sure to include:
    your frog's name (if any)
species (and latin name if possible)
    gender (if known)
how long you have had him/her
    pics are always welcome
a short 3-4 sentences about your frog's personality and what you like most about him/her

lets set some rules too, one bio post per person and a limit of two frogs per post
commentary posts are welcome but just one bio post about YOUR frog
i look forward to seeing and reading about all of your frogs

    ill start:

    Angus(right)
    Whites tree Frog (Litoria Caerulea)
    Male
I've had him for nine months
Angus is always hungry. He bites my hand every feeding. He has only one toe on each of his back legs but that doesnt stop him! I love it when he attacks water when the mister comes on (yes i feed him plenty, maybe too much!)

    Agnes(left)
    Whites tree Frog (Litoria Caerulea)
    Female
I've had her for nine months
Agnes is very shy, she eats only from forceps and hides a lot. However, at night i hear her in her tank jumping all around. Usually she runs away from the hand but if you try to change the soil for her favorite plant and disturb her she WILL attack.

I have so many frogs. I'll do just one for now:

your frog's name (if any): Aspartame
species (and latin name if possible) New Mexico spadefoot (Spea multiplicata). Although, I suspect she may have some Plains spadefoot in her because she has an hourglass pattern and a large cranial hump.
    gender (if known): Female
how long you have had him/her: Since July of last year
    pics are always welcome
a short 3-4 sentences about your frog's personality and what you like most about him/her:
Aspartame is actively friendly. She loves being held and is very snuggly. I've taught her to wave, which is the cutest thing ever. She floats sideways, which is really weird.

Thank you! She is my little princess, and I spoil her too much. She knows this. Your babies are super cute as well! Life with frogs is the best.

    Name:
    Bertha

    Species:
Possibly American toad, Fowlers toad, or Southern toad. Most likely southern toad.

    Gender:
    Female

How long you have had him/her:
I can't remember the exact date but I think about 2 years now.

A short 3-4 sentences about your frog's personality and what you like most about him/her:
She hates being held, so she mainly stays in the aquarium with my other toads and even though I don't have a lid on their enclosure they never try to get out of it. She is also the biggest toad I have; being at the size of my fist. She tend to be calm and likes to burrow.

I'm always talking about my frogs so I'm sure this will be a repeat to anyone who reads my posts.

    Paddy
    Hyla versicolor
    Female
    3 years

Love Paddy, my first and biggest tree frog. Easy to handle because I take her out of the viv for feedings, she gets her own crickets in a critter keeper. A little nudge and she climbs right on my hand, smart girl knows it's time to stuff herself.

Pic is of the first day I got her, skinny, terrified little girl in the bottom of a box-

    And fully grown -

2.0.3 Hyla versicolor "Eastern Gray Tree Frogs"
2.2.0 Agalychnis callidryas "Red Eyed Tree Frogs"

0.0.3 Dendrobates auratus "Turquoise and Bronze"
    0.0.1 Anaxyrus fowleri "Fowler's Toad"

Even though I've been keeping toads since I was 5, there's always been a strong connection between us that I just can't explain.

"Look on the wall behind you. Look at that little girl's face. I know you've seen it. But you know what she's never going to be able to see? She's never going to be able to see the simple wonder of a leaf in her hand. Because there's not going to be any trees. Now you think about that."

    Pebbles
    Xenopus laevis
    Gender unknown!
I've had this cutie a about month or so

I've enjoyed keeping dwarf frogs so much that I recently bought a clawed frog. I've been thinking about it and reading up on them for over a year now, so I'm ecstatic to finally have one!!

I've been referring to it as a she for now until I know the sex. She was very close to being called Mrs. Nesbitt (Toy Story reference ), but then my son suggested Pebbles so we went with that.

She moves her hands like she is putting food into her mouth randomly from time to time and it looks like she is blowing me a kiss

I've included a picture of her on her first day with us but she looks so tiny in that compared to now!!
