Use scissors, it's the best method to cut a worm in half. It's not that bad, the people that buy these worms are going to stick them on a hook any ways. I don't think worms really feel pain, they're pretty low on the lifeform scale.

For their age, a whole worm is probably fine. My two aren't fully grown, but have been downing whole ones for a few months now. You might be surprised at what they can do!

Im going to the bait shop tomorrow. Im gunna grab smalls and larges and see how it goes
