Default 2 juvenile leucistic axolotls need homes!

    Hi everyone,

My two leucistic axolotls had a clutch back in December, and I was able to raise and rehome all but two. They're both at about 3 inches long and are eating thawed blood worms. It'll be $5 per axolotl plus shipping. Please. PM me if you're interested.

    Thanks!

Ack, foolish me. Since they are juveniles, they would have to be overnighted. Overnighting salamanders is about $30, so if you are interested please include your zip code with your PM so I can approximate how much it'll cost to send.

    Thanks!

I ship a lot of animals myself, there is a way to ship priority (2 days) and keep them alive for about a third of the price.

its called foam and inflated ziplock bags haha. seriously though, I would ship an animal in a plastic tupperware tub with airholes, wrap that in plastic wrap, put it in a foam box (with any needed temperature modifiers) wrap that in platic wrap, and put it in a box with enough room to put inflated ziplock bags around it.

What is the minimum size of tank one needs as an adult? What temperature range do they need?

For one axolotl at the average length, they require a 10 gallon tank. Since axolotls reside on the bottom of their tanks, it's best to get a tank that is longer than taller to provide optimum space. They thrive at about 65F, and their temperature cannot go about 75F or else they will get very sick. I keep mine at ambient temperature (70F) and they do just fine.
