    Sorry, but that doesn't completely answer my question. What are the minimum dimensions for a two to three inch American toad?

    Just my quick opinion,,a 3 inch toad can go in a 10 gal tank..but to answer your first question,I'd go for the 24 in over the 18 square,..I like to give my animals room to move and spread out.they also fit tighter up against a wall.

    You can more or less throw the height dimension out of the equation for toads, but conventional wisdom seems to say a 10 gallon tank, which has a footprint of 20 X 11.

    I agree that a 10 gallon is adequate for only one, I would have dimensions of 30x12x12 for three american toads, For fire bellies, Three can fit in a 10 gallon 18x12x12
    and for larger toads a 40 breeder or 55 gallon would fit one cane toad, in my mind this is the minimum
