My Grey Tree Frogs

Just wanted to share some pics of my babies They are all FAT in these pictures, but they had just finished eating.

Silvermist - Female - I've had her since 2011. She is my waterbug, she spends a majority of her time on the edge of the water dish.


Paddy - Female (big frog) and Atlas - Male - These two both feel that they are the dominant frog in the tank and require the highest peak. Paddy is my biggest frog at just over 3"s and Atlas is my smallest at 1 1/2"s. I was really afraid that Paddy would be aggressive with Atlas and they would have to be in separate tanks, obviously they get along just fine though. Paddy is my favorite of all my frogs and the only one that allows me to handle her. I typically feed her in a critter keeper because it doesn't stress her out to move her and she is the only one that can easily handle large crickets and gets pretty aggressive at feeding time. Plus, I don't like chirping crickets lost in my tank when they manage to escape the bowl. All the rest of them are bowl fed medium crickets in the tank. Paddy is the first frog I've ever owned, she was given to me as a surprise gift in 2011. Atlas was a nearly dead frog that I nursed back to health, I got him in aug 2013.



Willow - Female - At least I'm pretty sure she's a female. She's kind of an odd frog and has been since I got her. I think she may actually be a male that doesn't chirp. She has black spots on her neck and is a lot smaller than my other females. Not a very good pic, sorry, it looked better on my phone than it does when I uploaded it. I got her in 2011.

I'm not sure why the title changed to American Green Tree frogs, I put " G T F " though, I know they're not green tree frogs, they're gray tree frogs lol.

Very nice frogs, I like Silvermist the most with Atlas a close second . Went ahead and fixed the tittle for you. Forum changes some abbreviations to names and "G T F" comes out as American Green Tree Frogs.

Thank you Carlos, that makes sense. I remember seeing W T F on a different thread...which meant something very different than "white's tree frog" to me LOL When I opened the thread though, I saw what it was supposed to be. Atlas is pretty special to me because he's the only male and I practically brought him back to life.

I thought I'd add more pics of my babies to this thread instead of making a new one. And FTR, I see my original post says that Paddy is just over 3 inches, she's actually just UNDER 3 inches, somewhere between 2.5 and 3, hard to get a good measurement of her.

Atlas and Willow hanging out together. Atlas has been acting a little off lately, hanging out in spots that are not his usual hangouts. I was starting to wonder what was up...



Then I figured it out...apparently he thinks the start of winter is actually breeding season. In his defense, I did put a heat mat on the tank because the temps in the house were getting a little cooler than I was comfortable with having them in.

And Willow. Still haven't decided with 100% certainty if Willow is m or f after 4 years owning her. She has never chirped, is bigger than Atlas or Silvermist, has a large appetite...but at times, looks quite male. I have found Atlas (m) and Silvermist (m) in amplexus with Paddy (f) in the past, but have never found either of the boys in amplexus with Willow nor have I found Willow in amplexus with Paddy. So, until I have proof otherwise, I will still call her a her.
