Default Amazon milk frog set up help

    Hi there,

I been thinking of getting Amazon milk frog.

I have a 55 gallon but not sure on what I need?

Also it gets pretty cold how would I heat it up?

If you could let me know what I need to start out and for these guys to be healthy that be awesome. Also how many can go in a 55 gallon? I am planing on getting a male and a female.

    Thanks

I'm kind of new here too, but I do know that milk frogs are a tree frog species. I think that a 55 gallon would be just high enough for a tree frog. For heat, under tank heaters, large ones for a 55 gallon, can be placed along the back or one side of the tank. Either that or you can buy a light fixture and heat lamp, probably 100 watts. It's best to get live plants, but fake or plastic plants are still very good for putting in a terrarium. as a tree frog, milk frogs will need quite a number of branches, sanded down or smooth, for climbing and jumping. Manzanita or bamboo or cork bark all work pretty well. With a 55 gallon tank, you could probably hold 4 - 6 frogs, though I'm no expert. Water dishes are always required that can allow a frog to submerge, but also easily climb out. For substrate, long fiber sphagnum moss, live moss, coco fiber, coco husk chips, and abg mix (atlanta botanical garden) all work great. They also need to stay above 70 degrees Fahrenheit. If you want to have an idea of some nice tree frog or milk frog enclosures, just browse through the picture albums, or look in the vivarium, terrarium, and enclosure discussion thread for other photos or build journals.
