I just bought 50 mealworms today for my toad. They're currently sitting in a plastic container a little less than halfway of oatmeal. I was told to feed them carrots and apples and I looked in my frige for carrots. The only carrots we have right now are baby ones but I think they've either gone bad or are going bad. Can I still give those to the mealworms? Should I stick to fresh foods? Does it not matter?
Catchy question! If carrots look dry and feel soft, it should still be OK for use. However; if so bad they are rotting and fluid is leaking out (doubt that if inside your fridge) myself would not use them. You might want to cut them in slices and let air dry for a day or so to avoid starting a mold or similar in oatmeal. Good luck
!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
