I didn't have a bulb in mine to begin with based on some stuff saying they didnt need one but I found they do better with a bulb so I'm sticking with one! And they enjoy basking as well.
How do u know? Why even ask advice if you just think you already know everything lol. They bask out in the open in the wild and are exposed to UVB so for their captive enclosure it helps create a more natural environment. Not much research has been done for UVB exposure to amphibians but it's thought that it may benefit from it so if it's a possibility it does benefit from it why not give them the option.
