Thank you, it really is so amazing how helpful this site is. It's like having frog nurses in the family! So thanks so much to both you and Heather and others...
I don't feel like we're out of the dark yet, but this little froggy has some pep in his step today, so fingers crossed, he begins to eat.

Good morning, little sweet frog didn't make it through the night... I found him this morning on the photos leaf he's been sleeping on looking quite skeletal. He looked as though he was sleeping, still all tucked in just very thin, more so than when he arrived. I thought immediately it was dehydration so dropped some water on his back, but could tell he was dead. I picked him up (only the second time he was touched by me other than when I found him belly up Tuesday night) and his little feet were curled under and he was stiff. He seemed a bit better yesterday, so I'm feeling a bit confused by this. Humidity was decent this morning, at 65, so it didn't drop too far during the night.
On a positive note, the little green one was found in the feeding bowl still awake and 3 crickets were missing. When I opened the enclosure to check on the lutino, the green one jumped up on a potho vine and is now sleeping. So, he seems to be doing well and I'm absolutely thrilled he ate. He is half the size of the lutino, so very very small
thank you all for your support and help (emotionally and otherwise).

Well, I don't think there was much you could do about it. I think you did an outstanding job considering the abuse the poor thing probably took in the hands of fed ex

I am so sorry to read of your loss You really should not feel it was your fault but I know from experience how difficult it is not to feel there must have been something we could have done but sometimes there really is nothing we can do to change the sad outcome. Last year I took charge of 10 very healthy looking Baby Grey tree frogs. We even went and traveled halfway across the country in the most awful rainstorm to get them. At first for about a week all was well then they started one after another to collapse and die. They went from looking healthy and feeding normally to being dead a couple of hrs later. Obviously I consulted a vet and she is good as she specialised in frogs so she did what she could but we could not get the lab results back quick enough and as we lost the last ones we found out it was a little known parasite which destroyed the lining to the frogs gut, there was little which could have been done just as I was assured it was nothing I had done the frogs would have arrived with it. It s still all very sad but I am sure you also did all you could. I hope the other one is still doing well. Thinking of you Jay

Oh Lindsey, I'm so sad for you and your little one .
You did everything you should have. Sometimes when they're that little, and thin too, they have no reserve to bounce back.
I'm glad your green is eating. I'm hopeful he'll be fine.
Please keep us updated.
Hugs!!!
Heath

Thanks for the kindness everyone! I'm feeling much better today after going through grief, then guilt, then more grief, etc. I will never ship frogs again, especially the babies. I think it's just too much to ask their little bodies to go through. I feel so bad for the babe, such precious life in such a little body!
the green baby is still doing well, and ate again for me, so I feel blessed to have him/her still with me.
thanks again
