    Default Update on Vixen

Vixen is 7 months and weighs 110 grams. He/she has adjusted very well with the new feeding arrangement. Each day Vixen is placed in a separate container, and fed. So far, he/she has eaten night crawlers, crickets, and dubias. Very sweet, and tolerates the brief handling. Poops in her cage!!
I still do not see the nuptial pads, and no croaking. So, Vixen may turn out to be a girl!!

I would guess girl also just based on all three of mine that were tiny in January, are all around 70 grams now, and just last night the last of the three started calling along with the other two. So if that much older and bigger and still not croaking it seems reasonable that it's a girl.

Honestly, I realise most people will say, it's not 100% yet, but at this point I dare to be confident enough it's a female, if no nuptual pads are showing.

I'm really glad to hear that Vixen is doing well! That's what this community is all about; it's worth all the effort we go through when we get the technique to save a frog that's on a bad path! Great work.

Also, my frog Bubba also has no pads and has never croaked. May be too young, but I should be able to confirm in within a few months. Might have a fat little girl frog too!
