I definitely don't agree with the care sheet as far as the amount that can fit in a 10 gallon. 5-6 would be way over crowded. I would do 3 per 10 gallon. I would do about 6 in a 29 gallon since it is the same dimensions as a 20G just a little higher but these guys don't climb.

Thanks so much. That is my thought too. It just doesn't look like much space. It seems like 10 would be on top of each other, plus a lot to feed. I'm going to go with 5.

Do they spend a lot of time in the water? Do they like plants in the water? Because of the background I have less land than I intended. I have a good amount of shallow water with a flat branch going from the water to land and some rocks near the surface. The water will be moderately planted with Cryptocoryne and Anubias.

By that I mean they are not arboreal. Sure they may climb/hop on to something if they can fit on it but if you put thin branches, thin plants and thin vines they will not climb on it. They will more so climb on stacked rocks. or thick branches, logs ect.

You will likely not be able to fit all of this in a 10G without taking up some space.

You're right about the arboreal part. My fbt's even use the plants to climb in. Maybe I bought some fbt's pretending to be tree frogs. LOL!
They only did this when they were young. They also like to hide in places that are a lot smaller then they are. They keep on trying untill they fit!
