    Default Please help me!

I recently purchased my first Pacman frog from a pet store. He was being kept in a small kritter keeper, and I have been wanting one of these guys for a while ... So I decided I might as well give him a good home! He/she is settling in nice and has already had its first meal here. At first I assumed what it was a Ornate horned frog ... But now I'm thinking it is a Cranwell's horned frog. Any help would be appreciated! Also, is there any way to tell the sex of the frog? I remember reading a few things, but I'm not exactly sure how to guess his/her sex. Thanks!

Congrats on your new little guy. I'm not up on Pacman frogs so I can't help you there, but I would like to see a picture of your enclosure for him when you get him settled in.

Welcome to the Forum and what a beautiful frog! It's been too long since I've had a Pacman, so in terms of helping you with Ornate or Cranwell, I would be taking a complete and utter guess. Int terms of sexing, though, Pacman's can be hard, especially when they are young like yours. Best of luck with your new addition!

My money's on Ornate. I'm pretty sure the Cranwell's horned frogs all have the pointy little bits above their eyes. I'm sure someone else who keeps them will jump in if I'm accidentally misinforming you.

That little guy is 100% without a doubt a Cranwelli. Ornates are not usually all brown and have 1 black dot behind each eye. It looks quite healthy congrats on your purchase!

Ooh! And I was wrong, indeed, it seems! (That'll teach me to open my mouth when I'm not 100% certain.)

Thanks for the breakdown, DigDug; hopefully, I'll get it right next time.
