My pacman finally emerges!

I just noticed my Ornate came out from hiding... Must have been hungry! lol. He enjoyed a few crickets and then buried himself again.
Do these guys always stay hidden? Am i doing something wrong?

It depends on the frog, but usually yes they all borrow down into the substrate. Mine usually sits with its entire back exposed from the cocofiber, even though its 2 1/2 inches deep.

Everyone comes out of hiding for a good meal every now and then.

Mine does the same. Most of the time (95%) he is buried, and occasionally I will find him in his water bowl. I take him out however to feed him, and place him in a separate container to avoid impaction issues. Make sure your hands are clean, and mist them heavily with spring water before doing so.
