Does anyone know if water shortens the life span of T8 bulbs?
I have a few setups and recently I just added another filter to one of them. The problem is this filter is a little too powerful for the hood. The result is a mist that hits the bulbs. I know oil from hands can shorten a bulbs life considerably, but will water shorten a t8 bulbs life?
I've had two bulbs burn out way before their time (after 2-3 months) after getting wet.

No. Water, nor fingerprints will shorten the lifespan of a t8 bulb. But getting the fixture wet would.

How odd, perhaps my fixture is just weird. It seems to work with a new bulb for a few months, then fzzzt. Or I'm buying terrible bulbs ...
