Does anyone know where I can get a good deal on discoid roaches. All the online feeder insect sites carry dubias but they don't ship to florida where I live. The few sites that do carry discoids are high priced
Hey Yikedaddy23
What's Considered High Priced? I'm Currently Cultivating Discoids And They Shouldn't Be Any More Expensive Than My Dubias. PM Me And I'll Help You Out.
I'm still looking for discoid roaches the few sites that had them don't ship to florida and there legal here smh. Anybody know where I can get some from thanks
I think part of the issue is that pure Blaberus discoidalis seem to be a rarity in culture. Many of them out there are the result of other Blaberus crosses to increase fecundity (i.e. with B. fusca, at least at some point down the line in the culture) which may still be considered illegal. Just speculating, but the sellers may be trying to cover their tracks for this reason if they aren't 100% sure of the origin/lineage of their cultures.

I would get in touch with Kyle at Home - Roach Crossing . He may have not have B. discoidalis right now, but might know of or be able to supply alternatives that are native/legal in Florida. He's highly revered in the roach hobby and may have connections to sources otherwise as well.

If it's such a hassle getting them, why not just use dubias? Is there a benefit to feeding discoids over dubias?
It is illegal to cross state lines with Blaptica dubia in Florida. Florida has state laws in place that limit what species can be kept in culture.
