    Default Hello Frogforum!

    Hi!
My name is Robin, I live in Norway and have a general interest in exotic animals. At the moment I have most spiders and scorpions, but I keep a Varanus glauerti and a little Ceratophrys cranwelli as well, and my fiance has a pogona vitticeps.

The reason I joined this forum was to get more information on how to understand and care for my little Ceratophrys cranwelli, and it looks like I have found the right place

    Best regards
    Robin

Hello, Robin. Cranwell's Horned Frogs are easy to take care of. A lot of people feed an abundance of rodents to their Cranwell's, they are best left as a treat offered about once a month or once every other month. A good staple diet would be made of earthworms and other insects. My Cranwell's named Zilla has only accepted 1 pinkie mouse, and now ignores them entirely. Zilla never and I repeat never passes up a earthworm or cockroach.
The only downfall of a Cranwell's is that they don't move around much, but they do look nice in a terrarium. Mine was a very vibrant green when purchased, but is now mostly brown and a yellowish color. If I was looking for a colorful horned frog though, I would have purchased an Ornate.
Sorry, it looks like I've rambled on a bit. It's nice to meet you Robin, and if you have any questions on your Cranwell's, there a lot of knowledgeable people on here. Good luck!

Welcome aboard. Billy has told you more about Ceratophrys than could ever do. I do think Ceratophrys cornuta is really cool, even though I have no plans to keep them.

    Thank you all
I am currently feeding the frog on roaches and zophobas, mainly Blaptica dubia. I dust the feeders with 2.0 calsium powder and "Miner-all" multi mineral supplement.
