They are generally safe but for notes, the red plant is what i think a croton. They sometimes have brittle leaves that ooze out a white sap. They can be itchy and irritating to the skin and may cause stomach cramps if ingested by a human.

Beside the croton is what i think a caladium. They are safe stem up. Unless their tuberous root is eaten then nothing to worry.

The other two plants is Schefflera arboricola and what looks like either a reed palm or a Chamaedorea elegans.

Your plants will require more than 4 hours of direct sunlight or full exposure to bright indirect light to maintain their colors and avoid leaf dropping. Except for the caladium, the other three plants are technically a tall shrub to a low tree so they are unsuitable to use in a small viv.

first pic, left is actually a syngonium sp. perfectly safe. otherwise, Neil, as usual, is spot on. the schefflera though, can be pruned to be kept small. they are a very popular bonsai plant right now. if trimmed properly, it can look like a miniature tree with a thick "barky" trunk and everything. and the palm is going to get stupid big, very fast. i had one outgrow my 125 in about 3 or 4 months. but then again, you can always trim the heck out of it when it grows too tall.

It seems i haven't encountered a syngonium like that yet. Most of what i've seen are the arrow-leafed types or the viney ones. Thanks for the clarification, Bill.

Just curious, how do you trim down a palm? Think i haven't seen a trimmed palm yet haha! Wouldn't it look ugly if cut the way i am thinking it to be cut?

That set of cultivars is been popular here in the states for about 2 years now. They're growing them in all kinds of colors. Designer syngonium a lol

Trimming a palm is no biggie. Just snip the stems at the base so it doesn't look completely stupid.
