Hi everyone!
I joined a few days ago inquiring about the care of a toad with an amputated leg (my husband accidentally ran over him with the lawnmower) The little toad is doing well so far, so it looks like I'm now the proud owner of a 3-legged pet toad.
My name is Christy, and I'm from central Mississippi. My husband and I run a state licensed rescue facility for turtles, but my knowledge of frogs and toads is limited to the multitude of wild ones around here, and the little dwarf frog I used to keep in an aquarium in my office. I am an animal lover in general. In addition to the turtles we rescue, we also have several turtles and tortoises of our own. We also have a bearded dragon, a crested gecko, a bearded dragon, a veiled chameleon, a miniature pinscher, and a yellow lab. And, then there are the wild toads and frogs that we love so much and sort of think of as pets. Our property is covered in them. We cater to them a bit by leaving our outdoor lights on 24/7 so the bugs are always attracted to our house. We get so many visitors some nights, we can't count them all. And we get so many repeat visitors that we've actually named a few of the "regulars".
Anyhow, that's a little about me and my experience with reptiles and amphibians. I'm very thankful for your forum, and for the help I've received. I'm a vice-admin on a turtle forum, and I know how a little kindness and help can go a long way. So, I appreciate the welcome I've received here. I look forward to getting to know you all!
Hey christy welcome aboard!![]()
