I bought my whites tree frog at pets unlimited. While there, I noticed one other frog besides the one I bought in the enclosure! He had dark bruise like spots on his back, but my frog looked healthy so I bought that one. I Got
him home, and he never really did seem very active, but the last few days I noticed him being lethargic, and I also noticed that his belly was bloodshot making me think red leg. Well he's even sicker now, and he's developed green spots on his legs and he can't jump at all! When he attempts to
his hind legs knot up and overcross like a pretzel! I gave him a melafix bath and he's in his own hospital container away from my two other whites tree frogs! Does anyone know what this is? Or encountered it before? What should I do? I reeally don't want him to suffer![]()

Oh no.
He looks very sick. Do you have a vet near you?

Your frog needs treatment by a vet as soon as possible.

I've seen a few bacterial infections, but nothing like this. Heather is right. You will need to seek a Vet. I can't say that even then that he will survive. This is severe.
This frog looks beyond Melafix treatment for help and needs a vet as previously stated. Has this frog ever been in contact with your other two?
Be extremely careful not to share anything among them (dishes, feeding tongs, etc.) Also, make sure you wash your hands well with hot water and soap after handling anything in it's enclosure and do wear gloves if available. Sorry can't be of more help.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Hello,
I'm sorry I did not see this sooner
I'm so sorry you frog is ill.
I hope you have been able to follow the guidelines above.
First of all..... don't blame yourself.
I am not a vet. However, I believe your frog has Chytrid fungus
( Chytridiomycota - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia )
EVERYTHING this frogs was near needs to be either boiled or trashed.
The other frog should be separated asap and treated as well
You can speak to a vet about using Lamisil AT spray.
I believe it's ------ 10 sprays into 180-200 ml (cc) distilled water
Bathe the frog for 5 min or so - daily -or so for at least 10 days - longer if symptoms persist
A good soaking container could be a small shallow/ plastic or glass food storage container.
You want the container to shallow enough so their bodin remain in the bath.
Be extremely careful when handling the frg as his skin is very fragile.
Don't let the spray get old ---it needs to be fresh --- make a new solution every few days
A vet may also prescribe an additional / topical antifungal treatment
If you don't have a vet here is a link:

They both need a quarantine container. ie and small critter carrier
The QT containers need to be wiped down every other day with the same solution above.
Line the bottom of the QT containers with very dampened - flat paper towel. Dampen the paper with de-chlorinated water
The QT container should have a small/shall/glass or ceramic water dish. like a glass petri dish or ever a class cup saucer
The water dishes need to be cleaned everyday with the hot water as well ( NEVER use any soaps) then spray with the solution/ rinse and refill
You need to buy powder free / disposable/ gloves. Change gloves between caring for each frog.
I would separate the the frogs completely... ie even so far as .... different rooms
I would report this to the individual you purchased this from
You can test for this:
RAL - Test : Reptile
Good luck, I hope things get better

That looks so extreme, maybe you should put him down. Did you tell the store about what has happened?
Is there any update on the poor frog?
