Talking Some questions about baby ACF

Our first two classroom tads have almost finished loosing their tails, and look very much like frogs now. A few questions if anyone knows about babies... Michigan survived my raising him blind, but I don't these two to have to survive me, but live well with me (and the class of course).

    1. One of them (Widget) has just a tiny black nub of a tail left, but he/she is still not eating. Should I worry?
    2. Though they are very close in stage of development one (Kristoff) is noticably larger then the other. At this stage can gender be determined by size?
    3. Widget also seems to lack the color that the other one has. Again, should I worry?
    4. I have trying to feed them both pellets for froglets and brine shrimp. Are these good choices to start them with?

They are both very active, and I put them together so maybe one would teach the other to eat, and have a friend...I hope this is a good idea. I am changing their water daily and fishing the extra food out after about 20 minutes.
My one year old (Michigan) is in a separate tank and I do know I should keep them separate until the little ones are at least half the size him.

Here is a picture of them in case it helps.

The larger one still has about a quarter inch of his/her tail. It curls down a bit though and isn't visible in all pictures.

Thanks for any suggestion anyone can offer.
    Jenn

Default Re: Some questions about baby ACF

Well these two are going to have company. With these two it took their tails a solid week to get as small as they are in picture. The third one started shrinking noticeably Sunday. I had separated them so the other two wouldn't try to much his tail. But the third one has almost caught up over night! Does anyone know if a couple gallons is good for three babies or should they have more like five gallons?
