Hey guys! I have been reading these forums for the past week or two getting the general jist about how to go about creating my first viv. Well today I took that leap and got the basic supply's that I believe I will need. From reading what seems like every topic on the forum I learned a great deal about how to create some pretty awesome setups. There is one question I have though and that's what type of sealant I should use on my artificial rocks. I purchased some cell foam and have spent all day shaping the blocks into the ideal shapes that I would like and then have been coating them in "Foam Coat". I just finished my third coat and they are looking great. I bought some Aerylic Paint as well and am about to begin that process. The only post I could find regarding what to put on it after paint was a product called "Shield All". I could not find this product at any home improvement store I visited today. I spoke with an employee at the Home Depo about a possible substitute and he recommended "NeverWet" Superhydrophobic Coatings | Corrosion Control & Waterproof Coatings | NeverWet I purchased a can of it. I just want to make sure that this isnt something that is going to hurt my frogs. Im going to have a pretty extensive water system that includes a waterfall and stream system ( If I can get it to work correctly =P ) and plan on spraying this product on the some of the surfaces that will be seeing alot of water (along with a layer of silicone). Should this be ok or is it going to lead to a toxic meltdown that destroys life as my frogs know it? Thanks for any feedback!
