Size: 7.4 KB Any body have any luck with these (Zilla thermometer hygrometers)? I'm looking for some different readers and these looked pretty shnazzy. I wanted to go back to exo teras version however the readings I got from them in the past were pretty off. Any body have experience with readers that can take heavy humidity saturation? What does every body use for there setups?

How were you able to determine that the ET thermometer and hygrometer readings were off?

I used two other types of hygrometers to test the readouts. ET's thermometers work on point however when I tested the readout with the hygrometer it would be up to 10-15% off. I tested with cigar Hygrometers for humidors. You can calibrate them yourself to make sure they are reading precisely, However, they didn't hold up when I tried using them in the actual terrariums. I had tested the ET on the combination Thermometer + Hygrometer, so I'm not sure if the single Hygrometer is better than their combo unit.

I use this brand with no problems at all. Occasionally I will put an analog in also just to see if they read the same and they do.

There is a free way of calibrating your hygrometers. I do this monthly, only because I need to resupply. If you have a high end cigar shop in your area, they normally have walk in humidors. I have several in my area that do. And these are controlled by state of the art controllers to keep humidity at a constant 70%. I take at least one hygrometer with my when I go to buy cigars and I window shop for a bit while my hygrometers level out. Of course, then I make my purchase and leave. Just take your hygrometers with you, do a little window shopping and split. Free calibrations

Found this: exo-terra thermometer/hygrometer, any good? ... I don't remember my ET digital hygrometer having a calibration option
