So I was at the Kent home hardware store today looking to get some plexi-glass cut and get some silicone when I was told by a staff member they didn't feel comfortable suggesting any type of silicone cause they thought it would kill my frog.
I googled it frog safe silicone and the first thing that came up was this site. It suggested GE Silicone II and Dala. They did not carry the GE brand but they did carry Dala. But they did not carry the waterproof version of that brand.
All their stuff is just water-resistant, and not meant for continuous exposure.
The pet store has a small tube of it but they wanted too much for it. $12 plus tax.
I read all silicone that is 100% is safe so long as it fully dries before any frogs go in near it.
So what brand and type should I get?
THANKS.
100% silicone!![]()
Ive researching silcones just a bit a bit earlier. I ended going to my hardware store (Bunnings) to check out what they had. I dont know if you have this brand where you are as Im in Australia but I found one ... It's "Selleys Glass Silicone Sealant" for windows and Aquariums ..which is a waterproof sealant (which they also guarantee for 25 years wont peel, crack or shrink).
As long as it is 100% silicone and has no mold and mildew inhibitors, you'll be fine![]()
