    Default Greetings! And a question.

Hello everyone! So I am somewhat new to keeping any kind of frog/toad other than when I was a kid (many years ago) but I've been keeping fish for some time now (You can find me over on theplantedtank.net) and some folks at my son's school all know me as the "fish guy" (I set up their aquarium, and taught a few lessons about the nitrogen cycle)

So I come in one day to find that the lady who runs the school made the purchase of four American bullfrog tadpoles. Without doing any prior research. At all. With no plan as to what enclosure to put them in, other than a ~3 gallon tank. ( Amazon.com: Uncle Milton Planet Frog (Colors may vary): Toys & Games ) There's no room to keep these guys anywhere. Plus it was the day before spring break, and somebody had to tadpole sit. Me being the fish guy, I have been tadpole sitting for a week.

The tadpoles are in a roughly 10 gallon reptile tank, which I have filled half way with water, and am assuming/hoping that it will hold. The problem is, what do we do with these guys once they're no longer tadpoles? There is absolutely no room in any of the class rooms for the size of tank/pond which it will require to house these guys as adults. They're native to the area (southern California) but I don't think an animal bought at the local pet store should be let go into the wild once it's mature. I know that is certainly the case with fish, even if they're native, because they can introduce all kinds of nasty non-native bacteria/parasites into the water. I'm thinking Craigslist will probably be the only answer, but I doubt I'll find anyone on craigslist with a 100+ gallon tank for their bullfrogs.

    So... any ideas/advice?

BTW, I am in the process of trying to figure out how to fit a 75 gallon tank in the school for a vivarium, but that is proving to be extremely difficult.

Hello and welcome to FF ! Other than setting up a large tank for them or offering for adoption; there is no easy answer .
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
