My striped marsh frogs are going off!!!!!!!!!

Hi every one,

I have 3 male Striped Marsh Frogs " popping away in my pond, all summer, but tonight instead of their normal "pop every few seconds they have been

"multiple popping" to the point of sounding like there are a dozen of them all calling together,

Anyone else heard this before ?, and know why ? My theory is, maybe they can sense a female around and are trying to outdo each other.

Its not spring here.. we are opposite side of the world, its autumn.

Maybe they're just conversing .

It right at the end of their breeding season. They breed between August and March. They are known to call all year around except for July.
