So I just acquired two new firebelly toads as rescue frogs who are around three years old I'm pretty sure. When I got them they only had a simply small water dish, so I switched their enclosure to a more aquatic setup using the false bottom method. It wasn't long after this transition that I noticed them in amplexus. I never thought anything of it other than normal behaviour. I'm 100% sure I have a male and female pair. The male is constantly at the female and will not leave her alone. So what I'm asking is this; what are the easiest necessary steps I have to take to successful breed these frogs? My poor female is swollen but she's isn't laying g her eggs and I think it's because she hasn't been cycled. If someone could give me all the steps I would be grateful! I've read some breeding care sheets but I would prefer to actually have someone tell me themselves in case I have any questions! This is my first frog forum post!![]()
